Echoes of the Night: 2nd Powerful Story

Echoes of the Night

The Night Fall

It was one of those nights where everything feels right about the weather. The stars shone brighter, and the distant hum of cars lulled him into a form of lullaby. He stood on his balcony, feeling the cool breeze against his skin, and he felt lost in the stillness, his thoughts floating into the realm of dreams.

The wind picked up in the night, enveloping him in a cocoon of solitude. Ameer’s mind now began to teeter between wakefulness and sleep, letting his imagination carry him away. The boundary between reality and dreams became blurry, and for a while, he felt as though he was floating in another world.

Dangers of the Night

And then, without warning, the weather changed. A hard gust of wind slapped him awake and, in the same moment, the lights went out. Darkness was dense, stifling. Ameer paused, unsure if he should go back into his room or stay outside. The air was heavy and then there came faint but spooky noises in his ears.

Echoes of the Night

His heart was racing. Panicking, he wondered if anybody was in the house. He tried to open his eyes, but it felt as though something was pushing at him to keep them shut. The noises were loud, closer. He needed to scream into the night, “Thief! Thief! Is somebody there? Help! A thief! Help!” His voice pounded in the darkness, unheard.

Echoes of FEAR

And then—a jolt, sharp and startling, struck his face. The shattering sound of glass followed.

Echoes of the Night
Ameer, trembling, rubbed his eyes and forced them open. At that moment, the electricity flickered back on, bathing everything in harsh light. In the distance, a loud BOOM shook the air—the transformer had blown. Yet, miraculously, the power remained.

Ameer was taking uneven gasps of breath when he turned toward the sound, which had made earlier, and from within the house there came a familiar voice to call out, “Hey! Why are you yelling? It’s only me—from the house!

Ameer just remained frozen between relief and embarrassment.
